1. Who can use Hwy17

Hwy17 is a community network for residents of the Highway 17 corridor and surrounding Santa Cruz Mountains communities. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you pay for a membership, the account holder responsible for payment must be 18 or older.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your password secure. One account per person. Do not impersonate another neighbor, business, or agency.

3. Membership and payment

Membership is billed at $2 per month or $18 per year through our payment processor. You can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of the paid period. Founding members retain the access granted to them at signup.

4. Acceptable use

By posting on Hwy17 you agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In short: no harassment, no spam, no doxxing, no illegal content, and no knowingly false emergency or hazard reports.

Hazard reports, mesh node listings, and directory recommendations are neighbor-submitted information. They are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.

5. Moderation and enforcement

We may hold, remove, or restore content, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the Community Guidelines. Content that trips an automated filter is held for human review before it appears. You can appeal a decision by contacting us.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Hwy17 a non-exclusive license to display, store, and distribute your content within the service so it can be shown to other members.

7. Location information

Some features use your approximate location. We display locations at reduced precision by default. See the Privacy Notice for detail.

8. Disclaimers

Hwy17 is provided as-is. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of neighbor-submitted information, third-party news, mesh network coverage, or business listings.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site.
